I love race day makeup! Its all about fresh youthful looking skin, with neutral brown smokey,or a soft pink tones on the and bright vibrant lips!
Makeup:
First and foremost! Make sure you have a good primer and setting spray! You are intending on wearing this all day and in any weather condition! Make sure it is going to stay!

I often choose my make up before I actually have chosen an outfit. Normally I will decided which feature will be my stand out, lips or eyes. If I am feeling a bold red or bright pink lip (depending on the season will depend on the shade) then I will keep my eyes incredibly simple. A light transition shade with a white, or pastel pink tone on the lid and a soft wing. If I decide I want to be a little more sultry with my look, I will do a smokey eye with different shades of browns and oranges. My biggest rule NO BLACK SMOKEY EYES! Keep these for the night time! Races are a day event so keep the looks well day time appropriate. Keep it soft clean and youthful.

When it comes to contouring I like a subtle hint. Like I said before it is day time. A strong contour can be a little too much at times. In saying that, I think if you are going for a bold lip then a stronger contour
brings out the definition and focus on the lips. A soft pink, coral or even brown blush is the way to go. Don't do anything to bright. I mean who wants to look like a doll.

If you choose to tan make sure you do it 2 days prior at least! I'm a perfectionist when I tan. So I will do my first proper tan about 4 days before hand. I'll do one layer, then apply another half and hour later. Then I have a good amount of time to fix up any inconsistencies. The night before the races, if I want to be a little darker I will apply a layer of a lighter tan, just to make the colour a little richer. But I refuse to go in looking like an oompa loompa so I try and keep it as natural looking as possible! So don't leave it to develop to long!!
Hair:
When I was younger I would always wear my hair out. But recently I have been loving how sophisticated and chic it looks having my hair back. The way I choose to wear my hair will depend on the neck line of my dress, and the head piece I choose to wear. If I am going to a hat of some sort it will be out, either straight or curly. With a headband I will opt for a half up half down look. If I am going all out with a fasincator I will most likely chose a slicked back bun. Like you can see in the photos above! If I am totally honest though hair is the thing I spend the lease amount of time on, cause its normally hot when I go to the races at home so I opt for a massive hat!
