Derby Day 2016!
Monochrome is tradition at Derby Day! The sleek sophisticated black and white looks is what makes this day one of the most elegant race days of the season. This year did not disappoint. There were plenty of fashion hits! I'll be talking about a few of them today!
Nadia Bartel: The lovely Nadia can never put a foot out of line. One of my style icons and she is slaying in this Thurley Eden Mini Dress. Cut of this dress shows off her slender frame to perfection. But the one thing I can't get over about this dress is that cape! The detail is simply but so intricate! Pair with a pair of Valentino's the shoes provided a slight rock edge to this look, with the little studs on the strap. But my favourite part of this whole look. THAT HAT! We saw Nadia rock a white boater hat to the Caulfield Cup a few weeks previous. This day she opted for the 'Charlie' hat designed by Lisa Tan. This hat oozes sophistication and honestly completes the whole look! But seriously she could have worn a plastic bag and she would of looked stunning (Ultimate Girl Crush)
Rebecca Judd: You'd never guess this stunning woman gave birth to TWINS just a month ago! Going with a simple all white look, which with her skin tone she can pull off and not be a ghost (unlike me). The knee length neck high Toni Maticevski flattered her curves in the right places. I loved the detail and ruffling around and down the mid section of her body. Added just the right amount of detail but still kept it simple. Her head piece was a statement. Something we have become acoustimed to when talking about Rebecca Judd (That red Brownlow dress) Suzy O'Rourke was the designer behind this gorgeous crown! I love the fact that her outfit was kept simple and clean so that the hat was the stand out point.
Jennifer Hawkins: I don't think you can talk about best dresses with out mentioning this woman. Also dressed in Toni Maticevski Hawkins opted for an all black approach. This dress had so much going on with the layers, off the shoulder cut, and the cut outs within the dress. If I was to wear something like this I honestly would feel like there is way to much going on. However on her it looks flawless. The cut outs and the layers just sit perfectly on her. Almost like it was made for her. The custom couture head piece by Viktoria Novak. The silver accents in this headpiece I thought gave just enough glitz to complete this look as she wore minimal jewelry.
Tammy Christina: Now I couldn't find a photo I could use (legally, I'm a little hesitant about copyright still) but the floor length white dress almost made her look goddess like! The low cut neck line was still classy, and the long sleeves split just under the shoulder were my favourite accent to this dress. She teamed this fully white out fit with a black lacey boater hat (Which I seriously need to buy myself one) with minimal silver jewelry for the final touches.
So there are my top four best dressed for Derby Day 2016! Hope you enjoyed it!! I am so excited for my Melbounre Cup Best dressed! From what I am seeing so far I don't think I can even single out anyone!
Till next time - S
